Niner RLT 9 RDO — Custom Two Carbon Builds | Bike Review

Watch the full build walkthrough on the Maklin Bikes YouTube channel

Two Niner RLT 9 RDO carbon builds, ordered together for a pair of sisters-in-law whose husbands already ride aluminum RLTs. Carbon frames were available at a deal, parts kits were in the shop, and it made sense. One Shimano build, one SRAM — custom from the frame up for each rider.

The Story

This is the kind of situation that happens in the shop when the timing lines up. A pair of riders came in together — sisters-in-law, both wanting to get into gravel, both with husbands who already had aluminum RLTs. Niner was out of aluminum frames at the time, but we had carbon RDO frames available and parts kits in the shop that made the math work out close to what an aluminum 3-Star would have run.

One wanted Shimano and one wanted SRAM. Both got fully custom builds to their preferences. The video walks through both bikes in detail.
