Ride Notes
We’ve ridden up here multiple times, along with Kyle and Reid doing the Copper Harbor Trailsfest Long XC Race. That’s a bit of a story in itself as Reid forgot his gear bag and some shuffling of bikes, pedals and gear had to happen just before the start between Kyle and Reid to get them both on bikes for the race. You can read about that over on the race report post.
It’s an awesome place to ride with a lot of different style of trails. I (Steve) haven’t been back up there myself in quite awhile, so I know there are some new trails since I’ve last ridden. The phase 1 of the point trail out to the point was in the last time I rode, but I believe there is more trail out there now. Usually when we are in the UP, it is a holiday weekend and that’s when it’s the busiest, so I’ll just ride from the house up into the Churning Rapids trails or go to the other lesser known Swedetown Singletrack in Calumet. The Ski trails are well known, but I think fewer people know about the great singletrack there.
I have some videos from awhile ago, but they are with an older GoPro and shake is terrible. I’ll see if they can be reprocessed to smooth them out and make them watchable. Otherwise, they’re hard to watch as is.
